This is so interesting... Matcha with charcoal is a new combination. Too bad, I can only stare at ur pretty roll...
No need to stare, bake 1 yourself also~ ;)
Good combination, Cathy. Haven't really tried cake with charcoal before, but I think it matches well with green tea.
Thanks! Its really nice, my hubby like it :)
Cathy, it looks like a special combination to me, thanks for sharing!
Try it out, its nice :)
Mmmmm, love everything about it!
Thanks papacheong for your kind words :)
wow looks really yummy!
Thanks Jean ;)
What an interesting combination!
what is charcoal powder??
Bamboo charcoal is made up of pieces of bamboo, which are taken from plants five years or older and burned inside an oven at temperatures over 1000° C (accordingly to wikipedia) :)
Very nice combination!
Yes indeed. I love the matcha taste with light Osmanthus scent :)
Very interesting combo! Must be nice too.
yes, very nice. Give it a try :)
Very interesting recipe! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome edith :)
wah.... interesting use of osmanthus with green tea. wonder how the combi would be like. But it looks really good. And the clever use of a jelly layer within a cake.
i wonder if its feasible to infuse the osmanthus into the milk first through heating and then filtering the flowers away. I love the smell of the blossoms but I don't really like them getting stuck between my teeth! lol
Yeah, I infuse the osmanthus into the milk first thru heating, but because I wanted my milk jelly to have some specks of osmanthus , so I did not filter them away. You can always do so if you do not want them ;)
This really looks amazing. I would love to have a slice of this with my evening coffee. I hope you have a great weekend. Blessings...Mary
i've not tried making the jelly blocks before but i guess they taste yum! also i think you did pretty well with that pattern s on the swiss roll. the last time i tried doing this kind of similiar pattern but not successful, the pattern just came out from the swiss roll! good work!
The Swiss rolls look super pretty! I like the filling too, matcha flavour, hmmm...!
