Another Birthday...

My hubby's friend, J is celebrating his birthday next wk. His wife, R specially sms me last week & order a cake from me. She requested for a durian mousse cake initially as their family are durian lovers. However, I am not sure if I am able to get any good durians. Thus I asked her for an alternative cake instead. I suggested to try my chocolate buttercream cake sandwiched with nuts.

If you noticed my recent posts, there were few cakes topped with chocolate cartoon characters. Yes, I fell in love with it & had lotsa fun pipping them. I made a big pink teddy bear for J's cake ! Isn't it cute?

Specially for U.....

My hubby's birthday is just round the corner & I decided to surprise him with a cartoon birthday cake this year. I can't decide on what to put on top of the cake & thus made two chocolate cartoon characters so that I can choose later. I simply love the little gal character as it resembles 'Boo' in the movie, 'Monster Inc'. I realized I looked like her too especially after I cut my bangs recently ;P

I put baby mickey on top of the cake instead in the end so that when my hubby looked at the cake, it will remind him of the time when he was a baby learning how to crawl? Hahahaha *^_^*

" Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy birthday to my dearest hubby,
Happy Birthday to you.... "

This is a chocolate cake sandwiched with nuts & buttercream. I'm glad that my hubby love the cake. This is what I'm left with in the fridge now *^_^*

Juz for fun

I made this chocolate cake for tea break tomorrow as my 2 buddies are coming to my humble house in the afternoon. It's definitely not our birthday but rather I am just trying out with my piping, cartoon characters etc. Hmm... as usual, I need a lot of practice on my piping skills.

Back from Taiwan !

I guess my hubby & I had spent about 10mins searching for this baking tools shop in Taiwan somewhere near 'Shilin night market'.

You will see various cake boxes of different sizes & patterns on the top right hand corner of the wall when you enter the shop. This shop is about the same size as our Phoon Huat store in AMK & they conduct their baking classes in a separate shop (forgot to take a pic ;P) next to this baking tools shop.

This is really a great news for people who are lazy to make their own dough. All you have to do is to purchase these ready made dough home, cut them into pieces & baked! Time saving & the best of all, no flour 'flying' around & not much baking tools to wash. *^_^*
